In the Past
It’s breathtaking when you look back at a single moment of time and realize that you’ve left a part of you behind. But you never truly do leave that part behind; God holds it and nurtures it, until the moment in your life when you can appreciate it and desire it again. That part of me was my love for music. I’ve enjoyed music all of my life, learning from it, gaining revelations...

Open Minds
“A comprehensive world view (or worldview) is the fundamental cognitive orientation of an individual or society encompassing natural philosophy; fundamental, existential, and normative postulates; or themes, values, emotions, and ethics.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worldview)
Recently I’ve noticed an influx of specific thought patterns in society. Perhaps the patterns have...

Cooking
Recently I started an experiment in cooking. I decided to try at least one new recipe a week, or at the very least to put a new spin on an old recipe I had made once a week. So far I’ve done well at getting out of my comfort zone and trying new things. I’ve also taken to some ingredients, that while I had used before, I hadn’t appreciated.
The desire to cook new things really...

Zero dollars left and I just got paid
Since the start of the year I’ve begun making and following a $0 budget. In a way, it’s a huge pain, but in another, it’s very liberating. First an explanation…
A zero dollar budget is a budget in which you pre-reserve every dollar of income that you have for the next month ahead of time to categories or bills. As you go through the month and things fluctuate, you must...

It's what you do that defines you
Another inspirational movie quote this week, this time from one of my favorite shows, “Batman Begins”. It’s not who you are underneath, it’s what you do that defines you.
I think the statement says a lot about people and their motivation in doing things. Often times the framework of a person will drive them to do the things that their framework built them to do, but...
Echoes in Eternity
“What we do in life echoes in eternity.” - Maximus Decimus Meridius, Gladiator.
I’ve had an amazing drive tonight. I think a lot of it had to do with remembering some old songs, listening to some CD’s from the height of my life, and generally accepting that to have happiness, I need to create it. It’s amazing how life can fade away and God reminds you that there is...
6 days later
As a follow up to my last post, I was largely correct. The steps quickly took me from a point of obsession back down to life, mainly being better by the end of the weekend. I am going to continue my steps however as I have a great need for any peacefulness I an get in life at the moment. I have to say that this has been one of the worst months I’ve had in years. It’s one of those times...

Obsessiveness
As a typically calm and collected, focused person, I have recently been having a state of mind that I haven’t really had to deal with to this degree before - obsession. It’s a little intriguing, but at the same time, has to be stopped now. It’s been hard to sleep, has started to interfere with school, and has made me enjoy life much less. I can see how people can get trapped by...

Possibly Palm's biggest mistake
Palm announced recently that they will be ramping up their SDK over the next few months to a full release at the end of the summer for the Palm Pre. As a developer, I think that timeline may be detrimental to the user experience for Palm. People are already complaining about the lack of apps, especially games. With a 3 month delay before a general release, I fear that their app store will feel as...
Illegal downloads? Bad music, I say. →
I have to say that one of my major pet peaves is the RIAA. Yes, the whole thing. If they weren’t suing grandmothers who have never owned computers, and three year old children (I may be exagerating…but not by much), I still wouldn’t like them. Why? The simple arrogance of the claim that just because people aren’t buying music they are pirating it.
In my own world, and my...
Have to say that I love the palm pre. The keyboard isn’t quite as good as my moto q, but it is more bearable than most reviews made it seem and I think I will get used to it. Synergy and webos rocks…just can’t wait for the sdk to go live.

I had an interesting experience with a Polish lady this morning. I found her trying her best to talk with a Dunkin’ Donuts employee, that couldn’t understand a word she was saying, and I believe that the feeling was mutual on her behalf. She kept saying “Nu-wer” over and over, and I assumed she meant Newark or New York. I asked her, and she confirmed my thought and followed...

Wow, I’m watching a live translated person talk. Their mouth is moving, and their bosdy language indicates they are talking, but only one word is coming out for every 3 they say. It’s amazing, I’ve never seen anything like it
Getting over being sick is no fun. But anyway, there are a few things that have caught my attention lately. Couchdb, mako, and cython. Couchdb is a pretty amazing document based database. Mako is a template language for python that I will be replacing all the django template language with on all of my websites. Cython is a python extension language originating from pyrex. That’s the most...
It’s Friday, right? Where did the weekend go? Even though I didn’t work at work, being on call, working on the house, and cleaning sure felt like work But at least it’s a nice day out.

Tonight, I was cursing the developers of Internet Explorer to whatever level of damnation is ethical for making a horrible project. It’s the only browser out of the major three that don’t support…or at least ignore…embedded forms. Took me over an hour, no error messages, nothing. Grr, so frustrating.
I have found the popcorn in newark penn station…the world is mine.
Why are there so many people going to Jersey City today? Is there a party I wasn’t invited to? I couldn’t even get my hands up to take a picture if I wanted to right now.
On the LONG train ride home ( not the short one )…had dinner in New York. It was very salty and fried and tasty…and healthy? oh well
Python packages
Interested in many python packages tonight…mainly from branching off of pylons. Including Mako, and webhelpers.

In a deli, I love this place! Can’t wait to start my job on Monday.
Yep…definitelty home…screaming unruly kids on a long train ride that is delayed. That’s New Jersey. :)
Made it back home, and it is my last day taking the train into New York. I start my new job in Jersey City on Monday.
Going back home to New Jersey today, of course there are delays because of wind…sounds like a typical flight for me. :)

Have to say that I like virtualbox…
www.virtualbox.org
Only wish it let you make branches of snapshots. Or maybe it does and I just don’t know how to do it.
They blacked out my windows at work…kind of depressing, but at the same time…I went from being in the city that never sleeps to the city that’s never awake.
It is far too early to be surrounded by people.

I just signed up with tumblr, and am interested to know how I will use it. But great concept, and I love that it picks up emails.
